In 1864, it became the Official supplier to the Royal Italian Navy and later became the first to supply military waterproof watches to the Italian navy commando dives. Officine Panerai watch branch was acquired by the Vendôme Luxury Group (now Richemont Group) in 1997. In 1998, the brand was launched internationally. Some of the basic principals of the PANERAI watches are the Quality, the use of strong steel without neglecting particular metals such as titanium, tantalium and other precious materials. Panerai focuses on vertical developments by function and not horizontal by dial. Moreover. PANERAI launched limited and millesimated yearly editions adopting exclusive high quality and reliable movements. PANERAI watches are COSC certified and use a packaging that guarantees the richness and quality of the main features of the watch. The PANERAI museum, featuring historical products manufactured from 1964 to 1993 for the Royal Italian Navy, includes watches, compasses, depth gauges, torches, patent documents and specialised tools of the watchmaker's art. The brand is distributed worldwide in- Europe, USA, Canada, South America, Japan and 11 countries in the Middle East (India, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan). Successful production of the Panerai Swiss based manufacture reflects the workshop of ideas, which convey the historical and contemporary Italian design with Swiss technology. |
