 Executive: Mr. Hratch Kaprielian Website: www.pierrekunzusa.com Thrust into the world of luxury watchmaking at a young age, Pierre Kunz first studied at the Joux Valley Watchmaking School, where he imbibed the values that have made the reputation of this renowned horological artistry. After completing his studies, he worked for a number of years in prestigious workshops and then went on to setting up his own business of restoring old clocks. He subsequently accepted posts with famous manufacturers, where he excelled at his work, the latest being Franck Muller Watchland. The founders of Franck Muller Watchland, seeing in him the makings of an exceptional designer, suggested that he create a new brand. With complete confidence, they gave him carte blanche to design his own models under his own name. Through his passion and determination, he produced a complicated watch, adding to it one or more retrograde functions. His extraordinary dynamism together with his exceptional expertise combining tradition and modernity, enable him to design watches that are at once contemporary and classic. The production process of Pierre Kunz watches includes several key stages. Pierre Kunz always starts by conceiving and designing the dial of the watch to be created. His dials always offer exemplary clarity, hence the great importance attached to the placement of retrograde zones and all complications on the dial. It is on the basis of this sketch drawing that the Pierre Kunz design team calculates, conceives and produces the functions of the future product. We may add that this method is exactly the opposite of conventional methods of watch design. Pierre Kunz has succeeded in his challenge to offer us the perfect symbiosis of technical accomplishment. |
